The Travel Agent Next Door (TTAND) has wrapped up a cross-Canada roadshow series that brought together more than 700 of its agent partners in 17 cities, from Moncton to Victoria.
The 10-day tour was hosted by TTAND founder and CEO Flemming Friisdahl, COO Jeff Element and Director of Marketing Christine Ufniak, giving the host agency’s leadership team an opportunity to connect directly with its network while sharing updates on new technology and programs in the pipeline.
“I am so happy to have been able to do the across Canada road shows, hitting 17 of our larger populated agent cities and having the chance to meet new agents personally –as well as seeing old friends, “ said Flemming Friisdahl, TTAND CEO. “Jeff and I had the pleasure to do all this over a 10 -day period, ensuring we get to spend time with our partner agents one on one”
He added: “ This year’s road shows are a 40 per cent increase from previous years and they are an amazing opportunity for our agent partners to meet their fellow TTAND agents!”
New technology coming in 2027
During the roadshows, Friisdahl and Element shared details about a new program that TTAND plans to launch early next year, ahead of its annual conference in April.
The technology is designed as a single-system solution for the host agency and will include fully customizable websites, allowing agents to personalize everything from the base bar to individual sections, images and videos.
According to TTAND, the platform will also feature eight booking engines, including an ITC booking engine.
The company has also developed a system of integrated forms designed to streamline the booking process. Agents will be able to collect client documents and information, including passport images, NEXUS cards and visas, as well as supplier forms, through the system.
TTAND showcases Phenix
Another focus of the roadshows was Phenix, a dynamic packaging program being introduced in Canada through TTAND’s partnership with U.K.-based Travel Counsellors.
Travel Counsellors generates more than $2 billion CDN in sales, according to TTAND, with $1 billion booked through Phenix.
The platform is expected to give TTAND agent partners access to airline tour net fares from several carriers.
“Phenix is a dynamic packaging program that will allow TTAND agent partners to have access to Airline TOUR NETS, making TTAND the only host agency with access to Tour Nets with Air Canada, Porter, Transat, Air France, Delta, Virgin Atlantic and KLM. No other Canadian host agency has these contracts – and this will allow TTAND agents to increase their margins significantly,” said Friisdahl.
