Acclaim Meetings Appoints Melissa Wright to New Vice President Role

Melissa Wright is taking on a Vice President role at Acclaim Meetings.

In a period of what it calls “exponential expansion,” travel event planner Acclaim Meetings has appointed Melissa Wright to the newly created role of Vice President.

In her new position, Wright will build upon the current wave of growth and oversee the team that plans and executes events, meetings, incentives, trainings, and in-destination education trips.

An industry veteran of more than three decades, Wright comes to Acclaim Meetings from TRAVELSAVERS, where, as Vice President, Business Development, she transformed the support the network provides to affiliated agencies.

She was instrumental in shaping the TRAVELSAVERS Business Analyst role into an interactive consultant who provides in-person, customized counsel to agencies, supporting them in growing their revenues. Over the past 16 years, she has partnered with TRAVELSAVERS agencies in the U.S. and Canada to assist them in meeting their goals.

“Melissa is the perfect leader for Acclaim as the company expands by leaps and bounds,” said Chief Sales Officer Kathryn Mazza-Burney. “In her TRAVELSAVERS role, she innovated to position us for future growth, built deep relationships, and enhanced the success of our agencies. Melissa will now bring her strong management skills and stellar record of achievement to Acclaim to further develop this significant part of our business.”

Discussing her new challenge, Wright said: “Acclaim is at a pivotal moment in its history. With demand for travel events and professional development climbing sharply, we’re aiming to channel this momentum into sustainable growth. At the same time, we’ll continue to deliver exceptional experiences to our attendees and partners while continuously enhancing our industry conferences and meetings.”

Since 2008, Acclaim Meetings has provided event planning services to the travel industry, including global trade shows, conventions, conferences and meetings.
