Azamara Cruises is relaunching its robust Azamara Ashore pre- and post-cruise land program that it first introduced in 2019.
“At Azamara, every journey is designed to be more than a passing visit, it’s an opportunity to truly connect with the places visited and the people who call them home,” said Dondra Ritzenthaler, CEO of Azamara Cruises. “The relaunch of Azamara Ashore is a direct response to what guests have been asking for, deeper, more immersive experiences that allow them to spend more time in each destination and engage with it in a more natural, unhurried way.”
Originally launched in 2019 as one of the most robust pre/post land programs in the industry, when cruising returned after the COVID pandemic, the program was much reduced. With this relaunch, Azamara is offering 17 new pre- and post-cruise land programs between 2026 and 2028 – six of which are brand new for 2026 – bringing the total to 84 core programs across Africa, Oceania, Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Each of these programs is specially created for Azamara, with 37 being fully unique and exclusive to the brand.
Guests can choose from seamless “Hotel Stays” that simplify arrivals and departures with optional transfers and logistics handled end to end; immersive “City Stays” that offer two-night cultural discoveries in every turnaround port globally, and extended “AzAmazing Journeys,” which provide three to six nights of deeper exploration in bucket-list destinations.
Advisors earn 10% commission on all three.
Some of the highlights of the brand’s AzAmazing Jouneys options include:
Victoria Falls & Chobe National Park w/Micato Safaris: Guests can explore South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Botswana, including a safari game drive through Chobe National Park.
Machu Picchu, Cusco & Hiram Bingham Train with Coltur Peru: Guests will experience Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley of the Peruvian Andes, meeting with master artisans and immersing themselves in the legacy of the ancient site. The journey culminates with a ride on the iconic Hiram Bingham train.
Wondrous Cappadocia with Tura Turizm: Guests will enjoy small-group access and extended time inside the Hagia Sophia, as well as learn about artisan pottery and carpet traditions in the region, all paired wit premium cave-style accommodations.
New for 2026, Azamara has partnered with luggage shipping service Ship&Play to make pre- and post-cruise travel more seamless. Clients can send their bags door-to-door from home or a from a trusted carrier location directly to their stateroom or hotel, with delivery timed before or after the cruise. As an added incentive, guests who book an AzAmazing Journey or City Stay package will receive a $50 per person luggage voucher when booked in advance, making the journey lighter, easier, and completely hassle-free from start to finish.
