Four Seasons entry into the cruise industry is one step closer to reality with the keel laying of the company’s first-ever yacht, Four Seasons I, at the Fincantieri shipyard in Ancona, Italy on July 9.

The keel laying is the official start to the ship’s construction.

“The Keel Laying ceremony marks a key milestone in the construction of our inaugural yacht and for the Four Seasons brand…,” said Alejandro Reynal, President and CEO, Four Seasons.

“We are thrilled to commemorate the official start of the shipbuilding process for the first vessel in the Four Seasons Yachts fleet, Four Seasons I,” added Nadim Ashi, owner and executive chair, Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings LTD, the joint owner/operator of Four Seasons Yachts.

Present at the keel-laying ceremony were representatives from Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings Ltd., including Ashi; former Qatari government official His Excellency Sheikh Sultan J. Al-Thani; and representatives from Four Seasons, Four Seasons Yachts, Fincantieri, and Tillberg Design of Sweden.

“The innovative steel backbone of Four Seasons I, which begins with the keel laying, provides structural integrity on which the remainder of the exquisite and specialty design details can be built,” said Fredrik Johannson, partner and executive director of Tillberg Design of Sweden. “Panoramic glass on the exterior ensures that all suites and public spaces feature full length, floor-to-ceiling windows.”

Four Seasons I sets sail in January 2026, with winter and spring itineraries in the Caribbean, followed by Mediterranean journeys in the summer.
