Why Hotel Hopping Is the Next Big Opportunity for Travel Advisors

When an immersive, destination-driven itinerary comes together, it’s a win for the traveler. When it’s carried out by one reliable hospitality partner, making the trip seamless and the travel advisor look like a rockstar, it’s a win for the advisor.
Sometimes referred to as “hotel hopping,” these trips often include stays at multiple hotels along the way, taking guests to different regions within a destination for the full, diverse experience. Recent packages offered by hotel companies highlight this trend: Rosewood Hotels recently launched Guided by Rosewood, which weaves a six-day itinerary through its properties in Austria and Bavaria. There is also the Maui Two Ways program that ties hotel stays at Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort and Hana-Maui Resort into one trip. It’s important to note that these packages are currently only available to book direct.
That doesn’t mean travel advisors can’t also “hop” on this trend, though – they just have to search a little deeper. Many hotel collections and brands, including Four Seasons, are taking hotel hopping in stride, aiming to make the journey easy and enriching for guests while also helping advisors craft multi-stop itineraries.
“Today’s travelers want to experience more than one side of the destination,” Miriam Niembro, director of marketing at Ultimate Resort Vacations, told Travel Market Report. “We’re seeing growing interest in multi-stop Belize itineraries, particularly among guests staying six nights or longer. It gives travel advisors the opportunity to create a more personalized and comprehensive Belize itinerary rather than booking a single hotel stay.”
Rather than piecemealing multiple hotel brands in one trip, it’s beneficial for the advisor to work with one hotel group that’s well-versed in the area, making it a smooth experience for both them and their client. It also can take travelers out of overcrowded tourist areas and into more off-the-beaten path locales, or combine both.
Here are some hot hotel hopping destinations to check out and the hospitality operators helping make it happen.

Belize (Ultimate Resort Vacations)
There are two sides to Belize that Ultimate Resort Vacations wants guests to experience: the cultural side and the natural side. Luckily, the hotel collection has properties that showcase each of them. Fort George Hotel & Spa offers a stay rooted in Belize heritage, while Reef Haven Belize creates opportunity to experience the Caribbean coast and Belize Barrier Reef.
“Belize offers incredible diversity within a relatively small geographic area, making it ideal for a multi-stop vacation,” Niembro said. “Rather than choosing between cultural immersion and natural exploration, travelers can experience both, creating a richer understanding of Belize and a more memorable vacation.”
Located on the waterfront in the heart of Belize City, Fort George Hotel & Spa places guests right in the middle of the action. It is an easy jumping off point for guests to discover the local cuisine, historic landmarks, and Belize traditions. Also, attractions such as the Altun Ha Mayan ruins are less than an hour away. The hotel is joining the Autograph Collection by Marriott in Q4 2026 but will remain in the Ultimate Resort Vacations family.
After learning about the story of Belize, guests can take a short domestic flight and scenic boat transfer to Reef Haven Belize. This hotel has a completely different atmosphere and rhythm, inviting guests to slow down and take in the natural scenery. Guests will also find local experiences here, many based on marine culture and water activities – mainly snorkeling in the world’s second-largest barrier reef. The property is 55 rooms, all-inclusive, and located on Northern Ambergris Caye.

Scotland (Sonas Collection)
In Scotland, Sonas Collection recently launched The Pursuit of Happiness package to encourage hotel hopping. The hotel collection has four distinct properties along the coast of western Scotland – three on the Isle of Skye and one near Oban – each showcasing a different part of the Highlands.
Already the package has garnered several bookings, “which tells us there’s real demand for a curated, multi-destination experience that combines exceptional hospitality with the beauty of Scotland’s west coast,” Andreas Maszczyk, group general manager of Sonas Hotel Collection, told TMR.
The Pursuit of Happiness package offers a two-night stay at Knipoch House Hotel near Oban, with a complimentary room upgrade, followed by a two-night stay at either Duisdale House Hotel or Toravaig House Hotel on the Isle of Skye with upgraded accommodations. It also includes daily breakfasts throughout the journey, regional three-course dining experiences, traditional afternoon tea, outdoor wellness amenities including hot tubs and swim spa access, and curated whisky and gin tastings.
For the scenic drive between Oban and Skye, Sonas Collection also provides a lunch and snack bag. There are also optional upgrades, such as a seven-course Taste of Scotland experience at 1635 Restaurant.
Perhaps the best part is that it simplifies logistics for travel advisors while still giving their clients a high-quality experience.
“The package makes it easy for travel advisors to create memorable Scottish itineraries through a single point of contact,” Maszczyk said. “Advisors can be confident that their clients will enjoy a consistent standard of product and service across every stay. As an independent family business with four distinctive hotels, we offer a more personal and flexible approach than a large corporate brand, while maintaining the quality and reliability advisors expect.”

Mexico (Four Seasons)
Four Seasons has crafted its own hotel hopping itinerary: a 10-day journey through lesser-traveled parts of Mexico. Rather than visiting the overrun Los Cabos, Playa Del Carmen, or Tulum, guests can venture deeper into the country with stays at Four Seasons’ properties in Mexico City, Tamarindo and Naviva, Punta Mita. The city hotel, paired with the two western coastal resorts, makes for a complete vacation with a diversity of experiences.
The recently launched “Roots & Rituals” tour is suited for luxury travelers and includes accommodations, transfers, and excursions. It all begins with three nights at Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City, continues with three nights at Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo, México, and ends with three nights at Naviva, A Four Seasons Resort, Punta Mita, México.
In Mexico City, guests can expect immersive culinary experiences, a hot-air balloon ride, and an exclusive art tour. In Tamarindo, wellness and nature-filled activities await. At that resort, guests stay in a cliffside, ocean view suite with an infinity pool. Finally, a stay at Naviva comes with more relaxing experiences, in an oceanfront bungalow.

Australia (Worlds Apart)
Hotel hopping is slowly emerging in Australia, as well, said Victoria Peterson, senior group director of marketing at Worlds Apart, a collection of distinctive luxury hotels and retreats in different regions of Australia. Though they’re not necessarily seeing hotel hopping in large numbers yet, travel advisors are encouraged to build trips around the concept.
“In destinations where we have multiple properties, they can curate an itinerary that lets guests experience different sides of a region,” Peterson said, “whether that’s combining wellness, food and wine or luxury accommodation with completely different settings.”
She suggested either crafting itineraries across Worlds Apart’s Blue Mountains properties, exploring a variety of stays in the Hunter Valley, or combining a Brisbane city stay with a regional Queensland escape.
As North Americans take the opportunity to explore more of the country on longer-haul trips, hotel hopping in Australia could become a stronger consideration. Also, Worlds Apart is soon launching a loyalty rewards program – another reason that hotel hopping can work out favorably for clients.
“Our portfolio is uniquely positioned because every property offers its own distinct character, acclaimed dining and local experiences, yet they’re all connected by the same philosophy of authentic hospitality,” Peterson said. “For guests, that means every destination feels fresh and different, while every stay feels reassuringly familiar. With the upcoming launch of the Worlds Apart loyalty program, we’ll be giving guests even more reasons to continue exploring the collection and discovering somewhere new.”
