Hurtigruten has appointed Matt DeWitte as vice president, sales and marketing, Americas. He replaces Carly Biggart, who departed the role earlier this summer.
DeWitte previously held the position of head of marketing, Americas, from 2022 until the brand split with HX Expeditions in January 2025. He then took on the role as head of marketing for the Americas, Australia, and New Zealand for HX.
“We are so pleased to welcome Matt DeWitte back to Hurtigruten,” said Iain Powell, Chief Commercial Officer, Hurtigruten. “Matt is an experienced leader who has consistently demonstrated strong delivery throughout his career. He brings solid and extensive marketing knowledge, combined with deep, firsthand knowledge of both our trade and B2C business in North America. He is already well known to many of our key partners and colleagues, and we are confident he will build on the strong work already underway. North America is a crucial market for our growth plans, and this year we have seen record growth.”
“I’m incredibly honored to return to Hurtigruten and to once again represent such an iconic travel brand,” DeWitte said. “What makes this even more special to me is to be able to reunite with my talented former colleagues who have been driving the unprecedented growth here in North America, as well as colleagues back in Europe.”
DeWitte’s first day in his new role is Aug. 31, 2026.
