Hurtigruten has appointed Iain Powell as its new chief commercial officer. He will lead the company’s commercial strategy, and work to strengthen its market position and drive further growth.

“We are very pleased that Iain is stepping into the role of CCO. In a short time, he has demonstrated leadership, business acumen, and the ability to execute. These qualities will be critical for the company’s continued progress,” said Hedda Felin, CEO of Hurtigruten.

Powell joined the Norwegian cruise line in March 2024 as vice president of sales and marketing for the UK and EMEA, before being promoted to managing director for the Nordics, UK, and emerging markets in December 2024. He has previously worked for TUI, Carnival UK, and Saga Travel Group.

Hurtigruten completed its separation from HX Expeditions earlier this year. Its new ownership has ambitious plans for the line and has committed to a long-term capital investment of approximately 400 million Euros.
