Norwegian Cruise Line Adds Canadians to Military Appreciation Program
by Sarah Milner /Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is expanding its military discount program to Canada.
Starting today, Canadian service members, veterans, and their dependents are eligible for NCL’s Military Appreciation Program, which offers discounts and special onboard amenities. This includes members from the Canadian Army, Royal Canadian Navy, Royal Canadian Air Force, and Canadian Coast Guard.
“The expansion of our Military Appreciation Program is a testament to our organization’s passion for supporting and giving back to military service members,” said Derek Lloyd, Norwegian Cruise Line’s Canada-based vice president of sales for North America. “Fostering a sense of community and providing military members with a welcoming environment to relax with family and friends is an honor for Norwegian Cruise Line.”
The Military Appreciation Program offers 10% discount on cruise fares for all sailings across NCL’s fleet, as well as a special welcome packet. The program first rolled out in 2022, and according to the cruise line, was “developed by veterans, for veterans.” To register, eligible passengers can enroll on the NCL website. More than 190,000 military members have enrolled since the program’s launch.
“The NCL family is committed to supporting the military community, and it is an honor to expand the benefits of our Military Appreciation Program to our allies in Canada,” said David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line and a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. “It is a privilege to welcome men and women who have bravely served their countries, along with their families, on board our ships.”
