Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day Mexico Will Break Several Records

Royal Caribbean International revealed details of its second Perfect Day experience – Perfect Day Mexico – which debuts in fall 2027. From the tallest water slide in North and South America to the longest lazy river in the world to the largest sombrero in the world, the private destination will feature a host of thrills and chills for the entire family.

Simultaneously, Royal Caribbean also revealed more details about three other upcoming private destinations: Royal Beach Club Paradise Island, Royal Beach Club Cozumel, and Lelepa.

“Today, vacationers are looking for a lot more than just a place to stay. We’ve seen that and it’s increasing,” Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean, told a group of media, travel partners, and investors at an event in New York City on Wednesday night. “More and more people are looking for experiences and families are looking for experiences together and that’s something that we at Royal Caribbean have really focused on. We are a large family brand and we lean into creating experiences for our families who sail with us.”

He added that Royal Caribbean’s ambitions in this area “keep getting bigger.”

“Perfect Day Mexico,” he said, “is bigger and bolder than anything we have done to date.”

Spanning more than 200 acres on Mexico’s Caribbean coast, Perfect Day Mexico, which Bayley referred to as “the new crown jewel of Royal Caribbean’s destination portfolio,” will feature seven neighborhoods with something for kids, families, and adults.

Loco Waterpark

If the waterpark at Perfect Day at CocoCay was big, Loco Waterpark at Perfect Day Mexico is bigger featuring more than 30 waterslides across five slide towers. Among the slides, visitors will find the tallest waterslide in both North and South America coming in at 170 feet height and taking more than two minutes to complete. (It’s also the longest coaster waterslide in the world.) From the same tower – called the Jaguar Tower, so-named for its fire-spitting jaguar head – riders can choose from eight more slides, including the tallest family raft side, designed for four to six riders at once.

Other waterslides around the park will include hydrolaunch slides that shoot riders 20 or more feet into the air, as well as the world’s first sombrero slide (it’s basically a bowl slide shaped like a sombrero). Other park elements will include adventure and wave pools.

Splash Cove

The highlight of this central neighborhood will be the longest lazy river in the world – with a twist. The hour-long float will feature multiple entry and exit points, plenty of ways to stay hydrated with float-up bars (there’s a cupholder in every tube), and an optional “crazy” section with unexpected twists, turns, rapids, and spins.

In the center of it all is a massive 100,000-square-foot pool, just one of 10 pools guests will find at Perfect Day Mexico.

It’s in this neighborhood that families will also find Royal Caribbean’s largest Splashaway Bay for kids 6 and younger. Nearby, families can rent out one of the line’s first-ever Splashaway Cabanas.

El Hideaway

The adults-only (18+) neighborhood of Perfect Day Mexico, the high-energy El Hideaway will feature a zero-entry pool, massive swim-up bar, and in-pool DJ. Groups looking to celebrate can rent out the new Ultimate Party Cabana for up to 20 guests, which comes with its own pool and bar.

Costa Beach Club

For those looking for a more exclusive feel, Costa Beach Club features a heated infinity pool and premium dining, along with private cabanas that come with a personal attendant and a dedicated pool.

Chill Beach North and South

Cruisers simply looking to kick back and enjoy the beach will find plenty of space along nearly two miles of white sand beach at Chill Beach, which stretches north and south from the pier. Guests can enjoy complimentary loungers, umbrellas, and towels at all beaches (and pools).

Fiesta Plaza

The arrival neighborhood of Perfect Day Mexico, guests will be greeted by Mexican music and dancing. It’s here that cruisers will also find the world’s largest sombrero, which sits atop the Tipsy Sombrero bar.

Perfect Day Mexico Dining & Drinking

When it comes to dining, guests can choose from 12 options, from sit-down spots to grab-and-go eateries, with nearly all food spots complimentary to guests.

Those who need a libation (or three or five), can choose from 24 bars, including six swim-up bars.

Perfect Day Mexico is schedule to open in fall 2027 and will be featured on Western Caribbean itineraries sailing from Galveston, New Orleans, and all Florida homeports. Itineraries featuring Perfect Day Mexico will open for booking this fall.

With the addition of Perfect Day Mexico, and when combined with Perfect Day at CocoCay, 90% of Royal Caribbean cruisers doing a Caribbean sailing will experience a Perfect Day by the end of 2027.

“Our destinations, we believe, are really leaps and bounds above anything else that exists in the market today,” Bayley said. “Each brings something very different and unique and special to the vacation experience.”

But Perfect Day is not the only private destination that Royal Caribbean is introducing to cruisers over the next two to three years.

“Destinations are the reason why people initially look at a vacation and then they look at the products that go there,” Vicki Freed, Royal Caribbean International’s senior vice president of sales, trade support and service, told TMR. “The combination of our Perfect Days and our Beach Club experiences, people want that kind of experience. They want the thrill, the chill, the family, the relaxation, the lazy crazy river. It’s something different. That’s a big part of the reason why we put such a big focus on destination, because it’s the driver.

“At Royal Caribbean, our ambition is bigger than ever, and so is our lineup of amazing experiences we are designing, all centered on our guests,” said Kara Wallace, chief marketing officer, Royal Caribbean. “Vacationers trust us to help them make every moment a memory, which is why we are changing the game with unforgettable experiences at Perfect Day Mexico and beyond.”

Royal Beach Club Paradise Island

Set to debut this December, the first-of-its-kind Royal Beach Club in The Bahamas will combine Nassau’s Paradise Island beaches with some of Royal Caribbean’s signature experiences. With the purchase of an all-inclusive day pass, vacationers can enjoy unlimited dining, drinks, and amenities, from The Floating Flamingo – the world’s largest swim-up bar – to three island-style eateries for local fare, Bahamian art installations, and live music.

Bookings for Royal Beach Club open in a few weeks.

Royal Beach Club Cozumel

Royal Caribbean’s second beach club, which opens in 2026, will be in Cozumel and will feature beaches, pools with swim-up bars, cabanas, snorkeling, kayaking, and more.

Lelepa

Opening in early 2027, Lelepa, a Vanuatuan island in the South Pacific, will be the first exclusive island cruise destination in the Southern Hemisphere. It will feature beaches, nature trails, dining, water activities, and more.
