Sea Cloud Cruises Expands North America Presence with New Office and Executive Appointments

Sea Cloud Cruises is expanding its presence in North America with a dedicated sales office and the appointment of both a president and vice president to oversee the cruise line’s expansion. Serving as president will be Mirell Reyes. She will oversee all sales, marketing, and communication in North America. Joining her is Kevin Smith as vice president of sales. He will focus on consortia, travel advisors, groups, and new charter partnerships. Sea Cloud Cruises U.S. will operate out of South Florida.

“The Sea Cloud experience is one steeped in history, sustainability, and luxurious European service, which resonates with today’s traveler,” said Sea Cloud Cruises’ U.S. CEO Daniel Schaefer. “Mirell’s and Kevin’s vast cruise knowledge and background in the luxury high-end market combined with their strong industry relationships, will play a major role in growing the Americas.”

Reyes joins Sea Cloud from Star Clippers Americas, where she most recently served as president. Her extensive career also includes time spent as executive director of sales and marketing for TUI Leisure Travel, and with supplier including Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, Cunard Line, and Holland America.

Smith brings over 15 years of experience to Sea Cloud, most recently leadings sales efforts for American Queen Voyages as vice president of sales. He has also held sales positions with AmaWaterways and Silversea Cruises.
