When Sun Princess debuts in February 2024, it will be Princess Cruises’ most family-friendly ship in the fleet with Park19, an all-new multi-deck family activity zone onboard, and the first ever hand gliding-inspired Rollglider at sea. The ship will also feature expanded kids areas for guests 6 months to 17 years.

“Park19, as the name suggests, is a new space created for all our guests, including activities to bring together multi-generational travel families in a location with spectacular views and fun outdoor activities for all,” said John Padgett, president of Princess Cruises. “The new area was tailored based on guest feedback for more family and group activities spaces.”

Sea Breeze
Inspired by the sport of hand gliding, the Sea Breeze is the first Rollglider on a cruise ship and takes guests high up to enjoy panoramic views of the ocean. Using an overhead track, guests are seated and harnessed into this thrilling ride, which reaches speeds of up to 11 miles per hour during the 60- to 90-second experience.

Coastal Climb
Not quite a rock wall, this climbing structure gives guests the chance to climb from decks 19 to 20 through a series of obstacles. Once at the top, cruisers can take in the expansive views before sliding back down to the bottom.

The Net
Harnessed above deck 19, cruisers are challenged to trek across unstable bridges, a z-shaped balance beam, and climb cargo nets.

The Lookout
At the top of Coastal Climb, cruisers can make their way to The Lookout open-air observation deck to take in 360-degree views from the highest point available to guests onboard Sun Princess.

Infinite Horizon
For those unafraid of heights, leaning tilt walls cantilevered over the  side of the ship allow cruisers to peer out from deck 19 and look down to deck nine and beyond.

Hammock Area
Another first for Princess, relaxing hammocks allow Park19 visitors to take a break from all the active fun.

Splash Zone
A whimsical splash area with pop jets for smaller kids to play in.

Recreational Court
This part of Park19 is where cruisers will find traditional outdoor cruise activities (think ping pong, shuffleboard, and the multiuse sports court), as well as Xponential Fitness classes, morning meditation.

Jogging Track
Park19 will also be home to the ship’s jogging court; 6.7 times around the track will equal one mile.

Additional family-centric offerings onboard Sun Princess will be found in the expanded Youth & Teen Centers. Activities will be available for guests, ages 6 months to 17 years.

Firefly Park (deck six) will be for Princess’ youngest guests, ages 6 months to seven years old, and their families. The family center will be a space to play together, as well as where parents can drop kids off for a program of art projects, theme parties, and group games. After hours group babysitting will be available from 10pm to 1am for $5 per hour, for ages 3 to 12.

Located on deck seven, Neon Grove (for tweens) and The Underground (for teens) will also kids spaces to hang out, socialize, and have fun. Both spaces will feature comfy sofas and chairs for lounging, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch gaming consoles, air hockey, foosball, and skeeball. Programed activities will include scavenger hunts, movie nights, dance parties and more.

Currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, the 4,300-passenger Sun Princess will debut in February 2024 with a full season of Mediterranean cruises, followed by Caribbean sailings out of Fort Lauderdale. It will be the largest ship in the Princess fleet and the first to feature a theater in the round, a three-story main dining room, and will have the line’s largest ever casino.
