‘Love Boat’ Cast to Reunite on Themed Cruise Aboard Regal Princess
by Briana Bonfiglio
Princess Cruises is leaning into its “Love Boat” history with a themed cruise, The Love Boat Celebration at Sea, aboard Regal Princess this November.
Original cast members will be on the Western Caribbean sailing, and the cruise line just announced two more special additions: Cynthia Lauren Tewes (who portrayed cruise director Julie McCoy) and Charo (who guest starred as entertainer April Lopez).
Other “Love Boat” actors joining the cruise will be Jill Whelan (Vicki Stubing), Fred Grandy (Burl “Gopher” Smith), Ted Lange (Isaac Washington), and Bernie Kopell (Dr. Adam Bricker). The seven-day sailing departs from Galveston, Texas, and visits Cozumel and Roatan, from Nov. 16-23, 2025.

“We’re honored to welcome Cynthia Lauren Tewes and Charo aboard Regal Princess for a joyful celebration that brings the magic of The Love Boat to life,” said Rebecca Thomson Foley, Princess Cruises’ head of entertainment. “This iconic show introduced the world to the joy of cruising, and reuniting with original cast members including Jill, Fred, Ted, and Bernie—and now Cindy and Charo—makes this sailing a dream cruise for fans and a thrill for new to ‘Love Boat’ guests.”
The Love Boat Celebration at Sea will feature meet-and-greets, themed activities, and special tributes, as well as live performances by Charo. A limited number of guests can also purchase the Captain Package, which includes The Love Boat Lounge: Cast Cocktail Hour, Bon Voyage Dinner with the Love Boat Cast, and exclusive commemorative merchandise.
“The Love Boat” television series ran from 1977-1987 and was filmed aboard several Princess Cruises ships. The cruise line has reunited original cast members in the past, such as for the christening of Dawn Princess in 1997, Princess Cruises’ 50th anniversary and Regal Princess christening in 2014, and for its first themed sailings in 2022 and 2024.
