Viking to Add New Ship on Seine
by Dori Saltzman /Viking will be adding a new Longship to the Seine River in 2025. Purpose built for the French river, the ship will sail the line’s eight-day Paris and the Heart of Normandy itinerary. It will be identical to the four Viking Longships already sailing the Seine – Viking Fjorgyn, Viking Kari, Viking Radgrid, and Viking Skaga, all of which launched in 2022.
“The Paris and the Heart of Normandy itinerary continues to be popular with our guests,” said Torstein Hagen, chairman of Viking. “We are excited to expand our offerings in this region and welcome even more guests on board to explore this incredible part of the world rich in history and culture.”
Viking’s Seine Longships hold 168 guests in 84 staterooms. Some of the line’s most environmentally friendly river ships, they have onboard solar panels, feature hybrid battery pack power, and are equipped for shore power.
