Viking has several new shore excursions that travel advisors can now book for their clients beginning this 2026 European river cruise season.

The new experiences range from Zeppelin flights over Cologne and the River Valley to culinary and cultural experiences, available only on select Rhine, Danube, Seine and Elbe river itineraries. In the new Zeppelin airship excursion, guests will be taken just 1,000 feet over land to witness iconic German landscapes and UNESCO World Heritages sites from above.

“Europe remains a favorite destination for our guests—particularly those interested in experiencing a river voyage for the first time,” said Torstein Hagen, executive chairman of Viking. “As we continue to expand our offerings in Europe, we are pleased to introduce new experiences that allow our guests to engage with their destination in the Viking way—through local food, culture and traditions, or even from the air in a Zeppelin.”

Travel advisors can now book the following excursions for guests:

  • Zeppelin Flight Over the Ruhr Valley (Rhine River)
  • Zeppelin Flight Over Cologne (Rhine River)
  • Dinner at Nikolaihof Winery (Danube River)
  • Dürnstein on Foot and Local Dinner (Danube River)
  • Sights and Flavors of Belgrade (Danube River)
  • Red Stone Castle & Wine Tasting (Danube River)
  • Sights and Tastes of Rouen (Only on “Christmastime in Paris & Normandy” itinerary)
  • Flavors of Berlin (Only on “Christmas Along the Elbe” itinerary)

In addition, the cruise line has added a range of new Small Group Experiences and pre- and post-cruise land extensions for 2026 and 2027, from a rail journey in Northern Italy to sightseeing in Holland and much more.

Now through June 30, Viking is holding a Summer Sale, where travel advisors can get reduced fares and up to free international airfare on select all-inclusive river, ocean and expedition itineraries, as well as $25 deposits for all itineraries.
