EF Go Ahead Tours has added seven new rail-based itineraries, significantly expanding its offering of train tours.

Part of the EF World Journeys family of brands, EF Go Ahead Tours has been operating guided land tours for over 30 years. Currently, the company offers more than 200 guided trips across six continents and boasts below-average maximum group sizes across its tours.

The new rail tours range from eight to 14 days in length, and explore the epic natural landscapes in destinations like the Swiss Alps, Italy, and the Pacific Northwest. The packages include a tour director, accommodations, sightseeing experiences, and select meals. The collection is now bookable for departures beginning in summer 2027 and through to 2028.

In a release, EF Go Ahead stated that the rail tours were created in response to demand for the travel style. New research from EF Go Ahead Tours and Qualtrics Research found that nearly 3 in 4 travelers re highly interested in train tourism, driven by comfort (66%), scenic views (64%), and the novelty of the experience (63%).

The new train tours include:

  • Grand Train Tour of Europe: London to Venice
  • Alps by Train: Germany, Austria, Switzerland & Italy
  • Swiss & French Alps by Train: Lucerne to Chamonix
  • A Week in Switzerland by Train: St. Moritz, Zermatt & Interlaken
  • A Week in Italy by Train: Venice, Florence & Rome
  • Imperial Cities by Train: Berlin, Prague & Vienna
  • Pacific Northwest by Train: Portland, Seattle & Vancouver

“Train travel has always carried a certain romance and nostalgia, but today’s travelers are looking for experiences that let them slow down, take in the scenery, and enjoy the journey,” said Lael Kassis, vice president of market innovation and development, EF Go Ahead Tours. “Some places are simply best seen by rail. From the Swiss Alps to the Pacific Northwest, our new Train Tours join a growing collection of rail journeys we offer around the world, from Japan’s Shinkansen to Norway’s Flåm Railway to New Zealand’s Coastal Pacific to Peru’s train to Machu Picchu.”

Recently, EF World Journeys unveiled plans to develop a new travel advisor program. Interested advisors can sign up or learn more at https://www.goaheadtours.com/travel-advisors.
