Airlines Warn About ATC Strike Disruption Today

by Daniel McCarthy  March 07, 2017

Airlines are warning passengers of even more cancellations and flight delays today (Tuesday), the second day of a five-day strike by French air traffic controllers.

According to European lobbying group A4E, more than 400 flights were cancelled across Europe yesterday, and more cancellations are on tap for today because ATC staffs at Marseille, Brest and Bordeaux airports are planning to walk out.

Ryanair cancelled 45 flights on the first day of the strike and said that number would go up to 82 today. Air France will operate 74% of its domestic flights and 93% of its short and medium-haul flights today, though the airline warned that passengers should be weary of additional delays and cancellations.
