Dallas Fort Worth International (DFW) Airport will soon be able to connect customers to even more attractive destinations in the South Pacific, thanks to the addition of American Airlines’ nonstop service to Auckland, New Zealand.

American Airlines will operate the new DFW to Auckland flights using its state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 aircraft. Tickets will be available for purchase starting on Nov. 9, and the first flights are expected to launch on Oct. 25, 2020.

“The addition of nonstop service between DFW Airport and Auckland is great news for our customers and all of North Texas, giving the millions who pass through our airport annually more choices when making travel plans, and providing economic benefit for the entire region,” said Sean Donohue, chief executive officer at DFW Airport.

“Our partnership with American Airlines continues to bring record growth for DFW Airport, with more passengers during the past year than the airport has seen in any of the past 15 years,” Donohue added.

In addition to expanding its service offerings, DFW Airport is also working closely with American Airlines on plans for the development of Terminal F. The long-term project is still underway, with up to 24 gates planned for the new facility to help address the continued growth at the airport, as well as new accommodations that will utilize innovative technologies to facilitate the movement of customers, maintain cost efficiencies for airlines, and improve operational performance.
