Avanti Destinations & Marketing Manchester Launch Educational Campaign for Travel Advisors

Avanti Destinations has teamed up with Marketing Manchester to launch a promotional campaign to educate travel advisors and their clients on the region’s custom FIT summer vacations.

With direct flights from the U.S., Manchester is conveniently located to serve as a gateway for regions like England, Wales, and Scotland with less hassle and crowds than found at Heathrow in London.

“Increasingly, FIT clients are looking for less-touristed destinations, as well as including several destinations on the same itinerary,” said Paul Barry, Avanti’s CEO. “With its international airport offering direct and nonstop flights on Aer Lingus and Virgin Atlantic, Manchester provides an appealing alternative to flying into London.”

The new campaign includes a 36-page downloadable e-brochure, titled Manchester: Gateway to Northern England & Wales, as well as a recorded webinar.

The e-brochure, which was designed to be shared with clients, includes information on Avanti’s three customizable vacations that feature Manchester, as well as 12 hotels and 24 private and small group tours and experiences. Travel advisors can access these resources via Avanti Destination’s trade portal.

A specialist in custom, foreign independent travel, Avanti Destinations is a wholesale tour operator that works exclusively with travel advisors.

“As the Gateway to the North of England, Manchester offers a convenient hub to access more of the UK, with day trips within easy reach including the Lake District, Wales, York or Liverpool. We are delighted to work with Avanti Destinations on this campaign to showcase our city and region to advisors and their FIT clients,” said Victoria Braddock, managing director of Marketing Manchester.

Avanti Destinations’ Manchester Vacations

Avanti Destination’s campaign spotlights three customizable vacation packages that include Manchester. Each itinerary is six days/five nights.

Best of Manchester is a city stay featuring experiences that immerse travelers in the local culture and history. This includes private tours of the city, nearby film locations, and popular dining options.

Best of Northern England is a rail-based vacation that combines Manchester and Liverpool. In addition to the rail travel between cities, the vacation includes various tour experiences, including a private “Eat the City” tour in Manchester and a private Beatles-themed taxi tour in Liverpool.

Finally, British Bites is a foodie-themed vacation that combines Manchester and Edinburgh, with options to include other U.K. destinations.

“As a cosmopolitan forward-thinking city, Manchester was the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution and free trade. It has pioneered technological and transportation innovation, political and social reforms, and progressive causes like women’s and workers’ rights. It has a reputation for producing leading rock and indie bands, and world-class football teams – soccer to Americans,” said Barry.
