Delta Air Lines is introducing a subscription platform, SkyMiles Select, providing special travel perks for an annual fee.

For $59 per year, members will receive Group 1 boarding, eight free drink vouchers, and a limited edition luggage tag.

Aimed at frequent flyers who don’t have elite status or a Delta credit card, the service should appeal to travelers who are anxious about priority boarding, or who want to ensure they’ll have enough space for their luggage in the overhead compartment.

Group 1 boards after active duty military members, business and first class customers, and other higher-level frequent flyers, but before Groups 2 and 3, as well as Basic Economy.

The Select package is exclusively available for SkyMiles members, and benefits are valid for a year after date of purchase.

The introduction of the Select package comes just weeks after Delta announced the relaunch of its Delta SkyMiles American Express card, which will allow travelers to earn more miles on everyday purchases and access more travel perks beginning Jan. 30, 2020.

With a variety of benefits ranging from double miles on restaurants worldwide, to access to The American Express Centurion Lounges, to earning Medallion status faster, each Card will feature new perks to address the needs of a variety of travelers.
