Epcot’s new Frozen Ever After attraction debuted last week to five-hour long lines and massive crowds, marking a busy summer season for Walt Disney World as it rolls out a slew of new and upgraded attractions.
Located in Epcot’s Norway Pavilion, where it replaces the Maelstrom, the ride features animatronics fan favorites Anna and Elsa, and of course, Olaf. It takes riders through the kingdom of Arendelle, complete with indoor snow, trolls and singing snowmen.
At one point last week, the wait time posted was 300 minutes.
The movie, a huge success at the box office pulling in over $1 billion dollars, is a gift that keeps on giving for Disney. A Frozen 2 is in the works, families can enjoy Frozen Summer Games at Blizzard Beach and at Hollywood Studios, and guests can sing along with both with Anna and Elsa.
The new attraction is just one of several this summer. In the past two weeks, Hollywood Studios launched a new Star Wars-themed fireworks show, Magic Kingdom got a new stage show and Epcot unveiled a revamped version of Soarin’ Around the World.
Still to come is the Rivers of Light, the new nighttime show at Animal Kingdom, which was originally slated to open in April, but was postponed.
