July was a busy month for Fiji.

Tourism Fiji is celebrating a record-breaking number of arrivals last month, with over 99,311 visitors arriving in the destination. This marks the highest-ever number of visitors within a single month in Fiji’s history, surpassing both July 2024 (1%) and pre-pandemic (3%) numbers.

The milestone achievement follows a period of significant growth for Fiji’s tourism industry. In 2024, the destination reached 1 million arrivals or the first time.

So far, 2025 is performing similarly strong, with significant growth year-over-year in the long-haul markets over the summer. The United States saw arrivals climb 7% year-over-year, with June (12,588 arrivals) and July (12,226) marking the strongest high season on record for American travelers.

Canada (10%), the U.K. (19%), and Europe (8%) also posted double-digit growth in July. Australians continued to represent Fiji’s largest inbound market at 45% of total arrivals. The country also welcomed more than 3,132 cruise passengers during the month.

The visitor spending for July is estimated at $343 million—a significant boost for the South Pacific hub’s emerging economy.

“July has been our biggest month ever, and while that’s incredibly exciting and vital for our country, the magic of Fiji is that it never feels crowded,” said Tourism Fiji CEO Brent Hill. “With resorts and activities spread across 333 islands, visitors can still enjoy their own private escape, from secluded island resorts to hiking trails and waterfalls with no one else around.”

From January to July 2025, Fiji has already seen 543,073 visitors, keeping the destination on track for another year of strong growth.

“Fiji continues to deliver excellent value,” added Hill. “With the U.S. dollar and Euro both very favorable against the Fiji dollar, and the Australian and New Zealand dollars going further here as well, travelers are continuing to find options for their budgets. But ultimately, the true value lies in the unique and life-enriching experiences visitors take home.”
