Germany Sees Growth in Incoming Tourism, Remains Cautious for 2016
Germany’s volume of international overnight stays, in properties of at least 10 beds, grew to 74.2 million through November 2015 – up 5.6% from the previous year. That’s above average for other European Union countries, which saw an average growth of 3.5%, according to the latest estimates by Eurostat.
Because of factors, including the threat of terrorism and the refugee situation, the German National Tourist Board predicts the growth rate will level off at 1% to 3% for 2016.
