Lufthansa Group to Significantly Expand Service Network Starting July

As the impact of the coronavirus on the travel industry appears to be winding down, demand for air travel is on the rise again, just in time for the summer travel season.
The Lufthansa Group announced its airlines will be significantly expanding their flight service network beginning in July. The Group intends to return 90% of all short and medium-haul destinations, and 70 percent of long-haul destinations, to service by September.
The Group’s airlines; Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa Eurowings and SWISS are all adding several summer destinations in July.
Austrian Airlines will resume its long-haul flight service beginning July 1st, and will offer flights to Bangkok, Chicago, Newark/New York and Washington D.C. up to three times a week. It will also offer short- and medium-haul routes to destinations including Bologna, Cairo, Florence, Moscow, Podgorica, Rome, Sibiu and Venice.
Eurowings will be returning 30% to 40% of its flight capacity to service in July, prioritizing flights to and from Cologne/Bonn, Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Stuttgart.
Lufthansa will be launching flights to Frankfurt, Boston, Houston, Johannesburg, Los Angeles and Vancouver. The airline will also return more than 60 destinations to active service in Europe, including Dublin, Marseille, Reykjavík, Salzburg and Valencia.
SWISS is expanding its European flight network and will be operating service to Amsterdam, Brussels, London, Madrid, Milan, Paris, Rome, Stockholm, Vienna and Warsaw, with additional intercontinental routes to be added.
