Reservations for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Open May 2

by Jessica Montevago  April 23, 2019
Reservations for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Open May 2

Star Wars: GalaxyÕs Edge will open May 31, 2019, at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, and Aug. 29, 2019, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. At 14 acres each, Star Wars: GalaxyÕs Edge will be Disney’s largest single-themed land expansions ever, transporting guests to live their own Star Wars adventures in Black Spire Outpost, a village on the remote planet of Batuu, full of unique sights, sounds, smells and tastes. Guests can become part of the story as they sample galactic food and beverages, explore an intriguing collection of merchant shops and take the controls of the most famous ship in the galaxy aboard Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Disneyland Resort in California will be opening up Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge reservations to the general public starting May 2, the park announced Monday.

During the land’s first three opening weeks, May 31 through June 23, a reservation along with theme park admission are required.

Specific details about how to make reservations (at no cost) will be available on Disney Travel News and Disneyland.com on May 2 at 8 a.m. PT. Registration opens at 10 a.m. PT on that day. Clients must have a Disney account on Disneyland.com to register for a reservation. Travel advisors will not be able to make a reservation for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on their client’s behalf, Disney said.

Those staying at one of the three Disneyland Resort hotels will not need to make reservations to visit the Star Wars-themed land. They will be provided with a reservation to visit the land automatically (one reservation per registered guest).

Clients who have already booked a stay at the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Disneyland Hotel, and Paradise Pier Hotel, from May 31 to June 23, received an email on Monday with details about their reservation.

Beyond June 23, reservations will no longer be required to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Disney’s largest, single-themed land expansion, Galaxy’s Edge is being billed as “the most technologically advanced and immersive attraction” ever. This is part of a two-phase opening; the second half will debut later this year, opening Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. The attraction will put guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance, and will blur the lines between fantasy and reality.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens at Walt Disney World in Florida on Aug. 29, and will not require a reservation.
