The Impressive Reinvention of Virgin Voyages’ Valiant Lady

Don’t call it a dry dock…there’s nothing dry about the changes to Virgin Voyages’ second Lady Ship, Valiant Lady. Refreshed spaces recently debuted alongside an impressive lineup of new programming to maintain a matchless onboard atmosphere for Sailors.

Subtle changes prove a noticeable impact, like improving sightlines by moving the stage in On the Rocks or adding shaded day beds at the Athletic Club.

A more obvious addition post-glow-up is Ariya, the first Indian dining experience across Virgin Voyages — named for Sir Richard Branson’s great-great grandmother.

Whether your clients are loyal Sailors or considering Virgin Voyages for the first time, the following are novel experiences that they can look forward to on their next Valiant Lady sailing.

Savor the spice at an authentic, new Indian restaurant

Virgin Voyages is well known for bringing global cuisines onboard its ships, and Ariya is the latest addition to a deliciously long list. This contemporary dining draws inspiration from the vibrant energy of India’s sensory-defying spice markets. Developed in partnership with Indie Culinaire and acclaimed chef Maneet Chauhan, Ariya will showcase flavors from various regions of India, from the Goan curried mussels to a mouthwatering pistachio-crusted snapper.

No meal on Valiant Lady is complete without a spectacular cocktail program to complement, so Sailors can expect to be wowed by tipples like the Bangalore Old Fashioned, a spiced take on the classic with aromatic cardamom and hint of jaggery. After the meal, enjoy a soothing cup of chai tea. A reminder that all restaurants are included in your client’s fare.

Sweat it out at a Brit Pop fitness class

Virgin Voyages has long changed the game with compelling — and complimentary — fitness classes onboard. Whether it’s morning meditation or high-intensity workout class, Crew instructors have your back for a mid-trip detox. Now, Sailors on Valiant Lady can choose from an expanded list of classes, including a headphone-led reset at The Perch as well as an ‘80s-style fitness class where participants can elevate their heart rate to the rhythm of classic British pop songs. With a full indoor gym, as well as a jogging track and outdoor stationary equipment, Sailors looking to stretch or sweat have ample opportunities.

Whisk matcha and pair pasta with trending culinary programs

Part of Valiant Lady’s bolstered “Happenings,” or onboard activity programming, is a suite of tempting new tasting events and hands-on lessons. Sailors can get their hands a little green with “Sweet Aft Matcha,” a class dedicated to the art of matcha tea blending. “Aperitivo Club” at Extra Virgin is an immersive, Italian culinary experience pairing pastas and tasting olive oils, among other adventures in nibbling.

Anyone who believes they have a palate worth bragging over will love “Trust Your Tongue,” an interactive and unconventional tasting challenge held in the Test Kitchen. For the laidback Sailor who would prefer a classic tasting, “Espresso Yourself” is the perfect answer, pairing espresso martinis with live jazz for a relaxed, but caffeinated afternoon.

Shop and sip at more venues

Beyond the bites and sips, Sailors will also find a few expanded spaces in the High Street Retail area, including a relocated and more spacious Virgin Voyages brand store, as well as a new TAG Heuer watch shop and Pandora jewelry store.

Grounds Club Too is following the growing trend of day-to-night gathering spaces. While the sun’s up, it serves a jolt with expertly crafted coffee but transforms its bustling café into a full-service cocktail bar by night. It’s yet another reminder that Valiant Lady — like the rest of the Virgin Voyages fleet — is a proven chameleon, offering clients a multitude of experiences that shift depending on the time of day.

Join a trivia team, poolside party or game show

Good luck finding a dull moment on Valiant Lady. As part of more than 20 new Happenings across the ship, Sailors can do as much or as little as they please. These expanded programming options allow clients ample opportunities to connect, celebrate and let loose across the ship. Staunch fans of trivia will appreciate new categories that test their most niche knowledge, while other formats like “Sports Smarts,” blend sports trivia with physical challenges for a highly participatory takeover. Poolside parties like Sun Society, transport sun worshippers to the fantasy of a high-society country club.

Crafting is having a definite moment, and the craft-curious can take part in an intro to crochet or an upcycling workshop turning repurposed finds into unexpected keepsakes.

Happenings continue well into the late-night hours, with game shows like the bawdy, confessional “Dirty Laundry” and a social mystery game called “Off the Record,” that’s perfect for solo Sailors.

See Europe, the Caribbean and a solar eclipse

Valiant Lady manages to do it all while sailing to top-billed ports across Europe and the Caribbean. This summer, she calls on the best of the Med, with itineraries in the French Riviera, Italian Coast and Ibiza.

For clients looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, August 2026 will bring a total solar eclipse. This phenomenon is perhaps best viewed at sea, and Valiant Lady will host a 15-night sailing to Iceland departing on August 5. Astronomy experts, cosmic-themed cuisine, special programming and exclusive merch make this a not-to-miss event.

From winter 2026 into 2027, Valiant Lady will saunter over to San Juan, where she will homeport for a series of warm-weather Caribbean itineraries, featuring themed voyages as well as holiday sailings.
