What Advisors Need to Know About Selling China Now

For many travel advisors, it’s been a while since they’ve been asked about China, a destination that was once the ask for clients looking to explore Asia. But that’s China.

China is reemerging not just as a legitimate option for travelers, but a destination that advisors can build their business around. The question isn’t if it’s how.

TMR today is releasing a new destination guide for China, sponsored by Century Cruises, that aims to answer that how, with new data, insights, tips, and words of wisdom on who is the ideal client of China and what cities are best for each type of traveler.

The guide also goes over the common misconceptions and intimidation that some clients have, including how welcome North American travelers are in the country, whether advisors need to have visited the country themselves before traveling there, and how the country is best experienced (with structure and with the proper expectations around language, pace, and scale).

The goal with the guide is for advisors to take it, whether they’ve sold China or not in the past, and use it to help expand their offerings to a destination that some, including Century Cruises, believe is the next hot international destination for North American travelers who have already been to Japan.

The China destination guide follows a U.S. Destination Guide that TMR released to celebrate the U.S.’s 250th anniversary earlier this summer.
