ACTA Appoints New President

by Cheryl Rosen  April 05, 2016

The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA) today announced that it has named Wendy Paradis as its next president.

Wendy will begin her new role on Monday, May 9.

Paradis comes to ACTA from the Ontario Tourism Education Corporation, where she has been senior vice president, leading business development and client services teams and working with “several tourism destination clients” to build out strategies and training programs. Before that, she held several leadership positions in leisure, corporate, and conference services at travel agencies including Eaton’s Travel, Marlin Travel, The Thomas Cook Group, and CAA Travel.

In a press release she said she is “honored and excited to serve as ACTA’s president,” and cited her “deep respect for the important role travel agencies play in creating exceptional experiences for Canadian travelers.”

ACTA said she is ”a compelling communicator who cares deeply about organizational development, teams, and the individual careers of people who work for her. Most of all, she has a powerful sense of respect and commitment to our members.”
