American and Delta End Agreement
Starting Tuesday, travel agents will no longer be able to book tickets on American Airlines through Delta and vice versa. The companies announced the end of their interline agreement, saying that they had come to a mutual decision. The interline agreement allowed either airline to sell a ticket on the other airline with all or a portion of the trip on the other airline. Now, without the agreement in place, travelers using both airlines will have to buy separate tickets and check and recheck bags.
