Best Western Parent Rebrands as WorldHotels, Uniting 4,000 Properties Under One Identity
by Bruce Parkinson
BWH Hotels, the global hospitality company best known for its Best Western brand, is undergoing a major transformation, adopting WorldHotels as its global masterbrand and bringing more than 4,000 hotels across 18 brands and 100 countries under a unified corporate identity.
The move represents a significant shift for a company that has expanded far beyond its traditional midscale Best Western roots into luxury, boutique, upscale, extended-stay and economy accommodations.
The transformation does not mean the disappearance of Best Western or other established hotel brands. Individual property names, signage and brand identities will remain unchanged.
Instead, WorldHotels will serve as the umbrella brand connecting the portfolio through a common loyalty program, enhanced technology and a more cohesive global marketing platform.
“We have a hotel for virtually every travel occasion, but many travellers only know a portion of our portfolio,” said Larry Cuculic, President and CEO of WorldHotels.
“WorldHotels gives us a clearer way to tell our story. By connecting our brands, loyalty program and digital capabilities under one master brand, we’re making it easier for travellers to understand who we are today.”

One Loyalty Program, 70 Million Members
One of the most significant changes for travellers and travel advisors is the introduction of a unified WorldHotels Rewards program, launching January 5, 2027.
The program will combine Best Western Rewards and the existing WorldHotels Rewards, bringing approximately 70 million members together under one loyalty platform.
The new structure will feature three membership tiers, while maintaining existing benefits such as status matching, member rates and points that never expire.
Members will retain the value of their existing points and gain additional opportunities to earn rewards across the expanded portfolio.
New Tech, More Hotel Choices
WorldHotels is also introducing a redesigned website, mobile app and proprietary hotel discovery platform. For travel advisors, the broader platform could make it easier to identify accommodations across different price points and travel styles.
Expanded Luxury Collection
Another key component is WorldHotels Collection, which brings the company’s upscale and luxury properties together under six categories: WorldHotels Luxury, WorldHotels Elite, WorldHotels Distinctive, WorldHotels Crafted, WorldHotels Backdrop and WorldHotels Residences.
“The future of luxury hospitality isn’t about standardization,” said Ron Pohl, President of WorldHotels Collection.
“It’s about helping exceptional independent properties compete and grow on a global stage, while remaining true to their identity.”
The transformation reflects the company’s effort to combine the recognition and resources of a major global hospitality organization with the individuality of independently operated properties.
