St. Regis To Make Agents Local Experts

by Doug Gollan  February 22, 2016

St. Regis Hotels & Resorts plans to launch an enhanced content area for travel advisors in 2017, Global Brand Leader Jim Petrus told Travel Market Report.

The goal is to create an easy place where agents can find “what’s current, what’s happening, and what’s hot” near its various hotels, information that often takes extra time and research.  “It might be new local restaurants or an exhibit. The idea is to help advisors,” Petrus said.

Despite the pending merger of parent Starwood with Marriott International, Petrus said it’s business as usual at St. Regis. “Right now, we’re still competitors.”

There are currently 36 St. Regis properties open, with another 22 in the pipeline. The brand is also prepping for five openings this year:

The St. Regis Langkawi (April 2016)

The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur (June 2016)

The St. Regis Changsha (September 2016)

The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort (September 2016)

The St. Regis Cairo (October 2016)
