Abercrombie & Kent (A&K) has expanded its South American presence with the acquisition of Bolivia-based Crillon Tours, one of the region’s longest-established destination management companies.

The addition of Crillon Tours brings Bolivia into A&K’s global network of luxury destination management companies (DMCs), which now spans more than 70 offices in 83 countries. Through the deal, A&K will offer curated itineraries and unique products across Bolivia, including experiences on Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake, and the Uyuni Salt Flats, the planet’s largest salt desert.

According to A&K, the luxury tour operator will add its own dedicated DMC team to Bolivia, as well as develop new products and experiences for the region.

“Bolivia represents one of South America’s most extraordinary frontiers, with landscapes and experiences that are truly irreplaceable,” said Cristina Levis, CEO of A&K Travel Group. “This acquisition reflects our commitment to expanding access to the world’s most remarkable destinations whilst maintaining the authentic connections and local expertise that define exceptional travel.”

Following the acquisition, Crillon Tours will continue to serve global partners with the same Bolivian leadership and team.

“We have been operating Bolivia’s most exceptional destinations for over 67 years, building deep relationships with local communities and creating unparalleled access to the country’s natural wonders,” said Darius Morgan, vice president of Crillon Tours. “Joining AKTG allows us to showcase our extraordinary landscapes to discerning travelers worldwide, whilst maintaining the local expertise and cultural connections that make our experiences truly unique.”

The acquisition follows other similar expansions in the last year, including A&K expanding with a new DMC in Mexico back in January.
