MMGY’s Traveler Sentiment Index at Record High

November 10, 2015

Peter Yesawich, vice chairman of MMGY Global and a veteran analyst of the travel scene, said his company’s Traveler Sentiment Index continues to climb to record highs, the highest in eight years that the company has measured the intention of consumers to travel.

“There is nothing on the horizon to disrupt this except an act of terrorism,” Yesawich said at the Hotel Experience hospitality-industry trade show at the Javits Center in New York.

Yesawich told TMR that for agents to succeed in this market, “It’s all about their database and using that client information to personalize trips.”

He also said he does not see agents participating in sharing economy products like Airbnb because “the rates are not there to make it worthwhile.”
