Nippon Airways Debuts Star Wars-Themed Planes
Nippon Airways launched the first voyage of its Star Wars-themed planes, designed to look like the character R2-D2. The flight boarded lucky fans dressed up as the films many characters for the trip over Haneda, Tokyo.
The airline has teamed with Disney-owned Lucasfilm Ltd., and the plane is just one of three to be decorated in Star Wars-themed fashion. Regular flights on the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner began Sunday and will fly domestic routes in Japan and international flights from Tokyo to Beijing, Jakarta, Sydney, Seattle, San Jose, Brussels, Munich, Paris, and Vancouver.
