Oetker Collection Sets New York Debut; Honors Valerie Wilson

November 30, 2015

Following the re-opening of London’s Lanesborough Hotel under the management of Oetker Collection, the group announced it will debut in New York at 550 Madison Avenue in the former Sony Tower by 2018.  The hotel will feature 170 rooms including 60 suites set across eight floors in the 43-floor skyscraper.

There will be a “cozy yet stylish bar with a beautiful lounge area, a gourmet restaurant, a spa, a fitness centre, and a 25 meter pool,” according to the company.  Additionally, it was announced that Sao Paulo’s Palacio Tangara, previously linked to possibly aligning with Ritz-Carlton, Rosewood, or Four Seasons, will fly the Oetker flag starting in 2017.

Separately, Valerie Wilson, founder of Valerie Wilson Travel, was presented with Oetker’s first-ever Honorary Pearl Travel Partner award by Didier Le Calvez, COO, and Frank Marrenbach, CEO, at a VIP gala dinner for top travel agents and media at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc at the start of the International Luxury Travel Mart (ILTM) in Cannes.
