Canadian ultra-low-cost carrier Swoop continues to expand its network, this time with two new non-stops out of Hamilton, Ontario.
Swoop will start flying from John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport to Ft. Lauderdale, starting on Dec. 16, 2022, and then from John C. Munro to Punta Cana starting on Jan. 11. One-way fares for the service to Ft. Lauderdale will start as low as $109 CAD, while the one-way fares to Punta Cana will start as low as $199 CAD.
The new routes are more additions to Swoop’s rapid expansion that has been continuing since travel reopened post-pandemic. Swoop most recently announced new flights from Toronto Pearson to Varadero Airport, the second largest airport in Cuba.
At the same time, the carrier is restarting some of its other popular flights, including London, Ontario to Cancun, which restarts on Dec. 3, and London to Orlando, starting on Dec. 4. Other routes that Swoop will again fly include Toronto and Hamilton to Ft. Lauderdale, FL, which will restart the second week of December.
From Hamilton, Swoop is extending some summer routes through the winter including from Hamilton to Moncton, NB, and St. John’s, NL.
Bert van der Stege, Swoop’s head of commercial and finance, spoke to TMR earlier this year and said that travelers should expect Swoop to continue that rapid expansion, both inside and outside Canada.
