Former Travel Bound BDM Named Avanti’s Southwest Regional Sales Director

New sales director was also a travel agent, and she will give more focused attention and service to advisors selling the brand.
Avanti Destinations has appointed Roni Astrachan as southwest regional sales director, calling on travel advisors in southern California, southern Nevada and Hawaii.
Los Angeles-based Astrachan reports to Avanti’s Chief Marketing Officer John Hanratty.
Most recently, Astrachan was the West Coast business development manager for Travel Bound. She began her career working for two Israeli escorted tour operators, NATOUR and Geographical Tours, before coming to the Los Angeles area. She joined Travel Bound in 2003, after first working as a travel agent for Valley Travel Group (Sherman Oaks).
“Roni not only has an impressive background in managing sales for tour operators, but she has also been a travel agent herself, so she understands both worlds,” said Hanratty. “With her knowledge of travel and dynamic personality, her reputation among travel agents is terrific. We are thrilled to have her representing Avanti in the territory she has handled for 16 years.”
Avanti has doubled the number of regional sales directors out in the field over the past four years, bringing the total to eight, in order to “to give travel agents more focused service and attention,” the company said.
