Perillo Tours will be offering three new escorted tour options in Italy next year. Each of the new tours, ranging from nine to 12 days, highlight a different region of the country.

“Alongside Italy’s larger, more well-known cities, we wanted to share with our guests some of Italy’s smaller, off-the-beaten path towns and villages,” said Steve Perillo, owner of Perillo Tours. “The new 2024 portfolio showcases the best of Italy, immersing travelers in beloved locations and authentic experiences, while sharing some of the country’s smaller, insider secrets along the way.”

Green Heart of Italy (April through October 2024)
This new 11-day tour takes guests through the region Umbria, also known as Italy’s “Green Heart.” The tour starts in Rome, with time to explore some of the Eternal City’s most renowned historical sites. Highlights of the Umbria section include a visit to the hilltop town of Spoleto, as well as Assisi, the birthplace of St. Francis. Other activities include a tour of medieval Gubbio, a cruise on Lake Trasimeno, wine and olive oil tastings, truffle hunting, and a hands-on cooking class

The Renaissance (March through October 2024)
This new nine-day tour introduces guests to the Renaissance period with an emphasis on the art of Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vince, and Botticelli. The itinerary begins with a tour of Rome before heading off to Florence. Guests will visit the home of Santa Croce Church, Michelangelo’s final resting place. Additional highlights include a guided walk focusing on the Medici Family. The itinerary concludes in Chianti, where guests will visit medieval towns, stop for olive oil and wine tastings, and go truffle hunting.

Best of Southern Italy (March through October 2024)
During this new 12-day itinerary, guests will explore Campania and Puglia. The tour begins with a few days exploring Rome (and Vatican City), before heading to Pompeii and Naples, where guests can partake in a pizza making class. Next on the itinerary is the Puglia region and one of the oldest cities in the world, Matera (also known as the second Bethlehem). Other activities include a tour of Bari, focaccia tasting, and visits to Lecce and Alberobello.
