The Rubens at the Palace Refurbishes to Become London’s Newest Five-Star Hotel

The Rubens at the Palace Hotel, an historic luxury property that neighbors Buckingham Palace, has been named a five-star hotel following the completion of a multimillion-dollar refurbishment earlier this year.
The property, which overlooks the Royal Mews of Buckingham Palace in London’s Victoria and is managed by Red Carnation Hotels, received the designation from the U.K.’s AA Hotel Services. Some of the additions to the hotel include two new restaurants, two bars and the renovation of accommodation and public areas.
As part of the restoration, the property has introduced a variety of new dining and bar concepts, including The English Grill, which offers twists on classic English dishes using meat and fish sourced from local suppliers; the Curry Room, an authentic Indian restaurant; and the Palace Lounge, which serves the Rubens’ famous Royal Afternoon Tea, with floor-to-ceiling views across to the Royal Mews.
The Leopard Bar now serves over 200 whiskies and 30 champagnes and features a live jazz and swing band in the evenings, while the New York Bar offers a vibrant atmosphere to enjoy cocktails against a backdrop of live music.
