Wyndham Hotel Group Aims to Unite Brands Under One Name
by Jessica Montevago /Wyndham Hotel Group will add “by Wyndham” to its 12 signature economy and midscale brands, in an effort to unite them under a common name and increase brand awareness.
Brands adding the “by Wyndham” hallmark include Super 8, Days Inn, Howard Johnson, Travelodge, AmericInn, Baymont, Ramada, Ramada Encore, Dolce, Dazzler, Esplendor, and Trademark – a total of 7,074 properties across the globe.
Beginning April 16, the updated brand names and logos will appear across brand websites to mobile sites and third-party listings. The “by Wyndham” cross-branding initiative will begin in North American and progress around the world with an expected completion date of December 2022.
The company said the strategy has already proven successful when implemented by the Wingate by Wyndham and Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham brands. For Wingate, the addition of “by Wyndham” in 2007 significantly increased brand awareness, according to the company, and Microtel has experienced a steady increase in RevPAR performance compared to industry benchmarks since the “by Wyndham” addition.
