Headquarter Happenings: New Biz Ops Tech Brings Nexion Into the Current Century

Since its inception, Nexion Travel Group has competed in the host agency space based on its people-first focus.

It’s something that Heather Kindred, senior vice president of business development, marketing and partner relations, has always said is the host agency’s strongest selling point.

“Nexion is about the people. We haven’t competed on technology, because we have the people. People come for the people and people stay for the people,” she said during a media briefing at this year’s CoNexion conference in Austin, Tex.

But in today’s business environment, great people and a strong community is not enough. The technology needs to be up-to-date. That’s been Laura Bjorne’s focus since she started as vice president of business operations just about a year ago.

Her efforts are starting to pay off with Bjorne introducing several major technology initiatives at this year’s CoNexion. Among the most significant are a fully revamped myNexion booking and CRM workspace, as well as the all-new OurNeighborhood intranet, which replaces NexionTown.

“Technology should remove work from an advisor’s day, not add to it,” Bjorne said. “We’re building around the advisor, making it easier to see what needs attention, find information and connect Nexion members with the tools they choose to run their businesses.”

myNexion

Long the operational hub for Nexion members, myNexion has been rebuilt on a new technology foundation that is designed to be more flexible, easier to use, and more quickly updated as new technologies arise.

“We’ve talked about technology before. We’ve talked about what’s coming. We’ve shown concepts… But today is different,” Bjorne said to a packed ballroom of Nexion member eager to see the new technology.  “This is real. These aren’t concept drawings. They aren’t mock-ups. They’re actual screens and this is the product. This is the next chapter of myNexion.’

Among many new features, the new myNexion includes a smarter commission search engine that lets advisors find unmatched payments and create the needed reservation in one click. There’s also an enhanced – and gamified – Excellence progress tracker that makes it easier – and more fun – to track progress, see rankings, and celebrate achievements.

Refreshed, customizable itinerary and invoice creations now has built-in secure payment authorization with digital signature capabilities. The entire process has been vetted by Internova’s legal team to ensure the authorization will stand up in a court of law. Starting next year, advisors will be able to use artificial intelligence to speed up the itinerary creation part of the process.

A fresh reservation dashboard brings key details and items needing attention into focus in one overview format, with quick access to general information, pricing, financials, and more.

“Now the experience is, give it to me all at one time so I can see it and then I’ll click through to what I need,” Bjorne explained.

Starting in May, artificial intelligence will be available to advisors for tasks like summing up previous client conversations, suggesting template emails, and more.

myNexion goes live for U.S. Nexion advisors in November and will feature built-in Tern integration. Travefy integration will follow shortly. Integration with additional CRMs are being evaluated. (The new myNexion will launch in Canada in early 2027.)

OurNeighborhood Intranet

Where myNexion is an advisor’s go-to place for their day-to-day client activities, OurNeighborhood is where advisors go for everything else from education to networking and keeping up to date on the latest news, preferred supplier promotions, and more.

The new intranet brings together Nexion news, partner information and promotions, education, events, marketing resources, and community content.

AI-powered search and discovery – referred to as Eddy – will allow members to ask questions naturally and surface relevant information from across OurNeighborhood without needing to know where it lives.

Together, myNexion and OurNeighborhood move Nexion away from a member experience spread across multiple systems and toward one that is more connected and built around the advisor.

“The takeaway is we’re coming into this century,” Kindred summed up. “Now, we’re going to have the technology match what everyone deserves.”
