Journeys Global Group held its inaugural luxury travel networking meetings in New York City and Toronto last week.

The invitation-only meetings kicked off in Toronto at the Bisha Hotel on Sept. 27, 2023, with around 25 Canadian luxury travel advisors together with 20 international suppliers, who included Costa del Sol Tourist Board, Fandango Tours, AG Group, HL Adventure Iceland, and hotel representation from MaxxRoyal Resorts, The Pierre New York- A Taj Hotel, and Kempinski Hotels.

The participants then made their way to Harbord Bakery, one of Toronto’s oldest Jewish bakeries for breakfast before being whisked off to Niagara-on-the-Lake and Niagara Falls for intimate, face-to-face meetings in creative and fun locations.

Micaela Giacobbe, the founder and managing director of Journeys, is a veteran when it comes to industry trade shows, networking meetings, large exhibitions, and hosting in-person and online events. Using Journey’s new trademarked FAM-MEET approach, which is a combination of advisor familiarization visits and trade meetings, travel advisors, international destination management companies, tour operators, and hoteliers can connect and create bonds of friendship while enjoying the destination.

For instance, one-on-one meetings were held during luxury limousine transfers to and from Toronto and the Niagara region, while riding the giant Niagara Falls Sky Wheel, at Ravine Winery over lunch at an outdoor harvest table, and at tables overlooking vines flush with ripening grapes.

Participants were also able to interact and connect during experiences hosted by Niagara Falls Tourism, which included a helicopter ride over Niagara Falls, a Journey Behind the Falls experience, and a reception and light dinner at the recently opened Niagara Power Station.

Since launching in March 2022, Journeys has curated and delivered nine online events, as well as live events in Italy, London, and France just to name a few. Eight more live and virtual events are scheduled for the remainder of 2023 and 2024.
