RIU Hotels & Resorts: What’s New in Your Clients’ Favorite Mexican Destinations

From Cancun and Costa Mujeres to Riviera Nayarit and Riviera Maya, RIU Hotels & Resorts is investing in Mexico’s most sought-after beach destinations. Through new resort openings, extensive renovations, and the expansion of its Elite Club premium category, the brand provides travel advisors with a broader selection of resorts to recommend to their clients.

Elite Club, available at a number of RIU Palace properties, delivers benefits such as privileged-view rooms, personalized check-in, late check-out, exclusive restaurants, reserved spaces, and premium in-room amenities. For advisors, it’s another way to personalize clients’ resort experiences.

Whether travelers are looking for a family-friendly escape, an adults-only retreat or an elevated all-inclusive stay, RIU’s growing Mexico portfolio gives advisors the flexibility to meet a wider range of client preferences.

Riviera Nayarit: Choices for Families and Adults

RIU’s investments in Riviera Nayarit expand the destination’s appeal for both families and adults seeking an enhanced all-inclusive escape. At the newly transformed Riu Flamingos, advisors can now book room categories for up to six guests, making shared accommodations possible for multigenerational families and larger groups.

Meanwhile, Riu Palace Pacifico transitioned to an adults-only concept following an extensive refurbishment. Guest rooms, dining spaces, and common areas boast a more sophisticated atmosphere that reflect the resort’s new identity. The addition of Elite Club further elevates the experience with exclusive perks, including a dedicated check-in area, a private lounge, and à la carte dining. These enhancements give advisors greater flexibility to match clients with either family-friendly accommodations or a posh adults-only retreat within the same destination.

Cancun: More Ways to Recommend a Favorite Destination

In one of Mexico’s perennial favorites, RIU’s portfolio grows with the addition of Riu Ventura. Located beside Playa Delfines in Cancun’s Hotel Zone, the resort offers amenities for every generation, from a kids club and family suites to an adults-only pool, Sky Bar, and private swim-up accommodations. That versatility makes Riu Ventura a strong option for families while still appealing to couples and adults seeking private spaces.

Nearby, the iconic Riu Palace Peninsula reopened following a complete renovation, introducing Elite Club benefits alongside new swim-out room categories for a more premium experience. The continued expansion builds on neighboring Riu Palace Kukulkan—the first RIU property to introduce the Elite Club concept—further strengthening the brand’s upscale options in Cancun.

With new family-friendly accommodations and elevated offerings, RIU broadens the options available to advisors in one of Mexico’s most in-demand destinations.

Costa Mujeres: Expanding Options for Every Traveler

Extending north to Costa Mujeres, guests can indulge in new developments here, too. The addition of Elite Club at Riu Palace Costa Mujeres expands premium options for families, while neighboring Riu Latino caters exclusively to adults. Another RIU resort is planned for the destination, giving advisors another option to watch for in the coming year.

Riviera Maya: A Refreshed Take on Adults-Only Escapes

One of the brand’s most significant transformations is underway along Mexico’s Caribbean coast. Riu Palace Mexico is set to reopen this September as a fully renovated, adults-only Elite Club property. The redesign brings a contemporary feel to the property, along with a new spa and sports bar. Elite Club further enhances the experience with exclusive amenities such as VIP accommodations, a private pool, and a dedicated restaurant. With bookings already open, advisors can introduce returning RIU guests to a completely reimagined resort experience.

Elite Club expands further with its rollout at Riu Palace Riviera Maya. It’s another exclusive and elevated adults-only retreat option in Riviera Maya for your clients, whether they’re booking a romantic getaway, milestone celebration, or something in between.

Los Cabos: Elevated Experiences on the Baja Peninsula

RIU also enhanced their presence in Los Cabos, where the destination’s resort complex includes Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas, Riu Santa Fe, and Riu Palace Baja California. The recent addition of Elite Club at Riu Palace Baja California introduces 82 privileged-view rooms, a private terrace with bar service, and other exclusive amenities, giving advisors another premium adults-only option on the Baja Peninsula.

Mazatlán: A Family Favorite

On Mexico’s Pacific coast, Riu Emerald Bay remains a go-to choice for families. With spacious family room categories and the on-site Splash Water World, the resort gives advisors another strong recommendation for multigenerational vacations and family beach escapes.
