Suppliers Expand Online Tools for Agents

by Dori Saltzman  May 07, 2012

American Cruise Line to Launch Agent Portal
American Cruise Line is building a new web portal for travel agents. Scheduled to go live this summer, the portal will feature a personal login for agents; agent training and certification program; promotional and marketing tools, including letterhead shells and product PDFs; a video and image gallery; an agent collateral order form; and details of FAM trips and the company’s commission structure.

Funjet Offers Custom Event Pages for Group Trips
Funjet Vacations has enhanced its Groups Your Way program with Custom Event Pages that allow agents to create custom web pages for any type of group booking, including destination weddings and family reunions. Once a page is created, group members can book anytime via their agency’s Go Funjet site. All bookings will be automatically credited to the booking agency. To participate, agencies must have a Go Funjet site set-up.

Rocky Mountaineer Retools Agent Online Booking System
Rocky Mountaineer has revamped the online booking system on its travel agent website. The new system provides easier navigation and a more user-friendly interface. Additionally, the company added a Cruise Match program that helps agents pair a Rocky Mountaineer package with Alaska cruises departing from Vancouver or Seattle. The system also allows agents to extend their clients’ pre- or post-cruise rail journey with extra hotel nights.

Saint Lucia Unveils Booking Engine
The Saint Lucia Tourist Board and Saint Lucia Hotel & Tourism Association have jointly launched a booking engine on their respective websites for use by agents and consumers. Agents can book specials, provide their IATA number and earn commissions. Future enhancements will allow agents to register and log-in for access to special offers tailored to travel agents and to track bookings and commissions. The booking engine currently offers accommodations and excursions; restaurant reservations will be added soon.

Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit Opens Agent Concierge Service
A pre-arrival concierge service for agents is now available at Mexico’s Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit. The service allows agents to handle all types of bookings requests as well as questions and issues that may arise for clients prior to arrival. The concierge also can make reservations at resort and area restaurants, arrange activities and transfers, make spa appointments and more. The concierge can be reached via telephone – +52 (322) 2268918 – or email.
