Tourism Cares to Induct 3 Honorees into Hall of Fame
by Maria LenhartTourism Cares, a nonprofit dedicated to the preservation of tourism sites, will induct three longtime industry leaders into the Tourism Hall of Fame on May 29. The honorees are: Philip Gordon, of the Globus Family of Brands; Steve Gorga of Travel Impressions, and Bob Sullivan of Northstar Travel Media.
The ceremony will be held in New York City at a reception and dinner at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Hotel.
The Tourism Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have made significant personal and professional contributions to the travel and tourism industry through their philanthropic, volunteer and mentoring activities. So far, counting the new inductees, 20 individuals have been recognized.
Phillip Gordon, chairman of the Globus Family of Brands, has been with Globus for over 30 years. The tour company’s brands include Globus, Cosmos, Monograms and Avalon Waterways.
Steve Gorga, president and CEO of Travel Impressions, has headed the tour company since 2001. Previously, he held executive positions with Kemwell Holiday Autos, Reed Elsevier, ABC Corporate Services and Utell International.
Bob Sullivan, CTC, executive vice president – travel group for Northstar Travel Media, has 20 years’ experience in travel trade publishing. He currently serves as group publisher of Travel Weekly and Business Travel News.
