For the first time, Japan-based cruise line MITSUI OCEAN CRUISES is opening its Asia itineraries to North American travelers.

Sales will be via a partnership with Architects of Travel, which will support bookings of the cruise line’s newest ship, MITSUI OCEAN FUJI, with a targeted marketing campaign in the U.S. and Canads to increase awareness of the line among travel advisors.

The former Seabourn Odyssey, the 458-guest MITSUI OCEAN FUJI launched Dec. 2024 as one of Japan’s most luxurious all-suite cruise ships. The onboard experience is characterized by spacious guest venues and traditional omotenashi service. (Omotenashi is a Japanese concept of hospitality that means to wholeheartedly care for guests.)

“With Japan being a top destination to visit from the U.S. and Canada, we’re in a unique position to offer a one-of-a-kind cruise vacation which represents true Japanese experiences that only a Japanese company can provide, sailing with Japanese guests and crew, and organically feeling the culture in a way that is genuine to how the locals enjoy leisure travel,” said Anthony Kaufman, head of commercial strategies at MITSUI OCEAN CRUISES. “Partnering with the experts of Architects of Travel is an important step to making this unique travel opportunity available to a small number of guests from North America.”

MITSUI OCEAN CRUISES is a division of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines. Fares for the line are inclusive of most beverages, Wi-Fi, gratuities, and one half-day excursion in every port with English speaking guides. Itineraries depart from Japan and visit ports in Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, and Thailand.

New July 2025-June 2026 itineraries will be announced soon and on sale in early March. Advisors can find more information about the cruise line here.
