AmaWaterways will hold its next session in its Wednesday webinar series on April 15 on digital marketing and sales tools.

“The Virtual Sales and Marketing Tools to Inspire Your Clients Now” will feature insight on how advisors can use these tools to inspire their clients now while they are at home, and later when international travel resumes.

Led by Kristin Karst, co-founder and executive vice president; Gary Murphy, co-owner and senior vice president of sales; and Janet Bava, chief marketing officer, the webinar begins at 1:30 pm EST/10:30 am PST.

AmaWaterways launched its Webinar Wednesday series in 2019 to educate and empower its travel partners. Originally a monthly series, the live webinars are now held weekly “in response to positive feedback and desire for continuing education from travel advisor partners,” the company said.

In the last month, AmaWaterways held four webinars at maximum capacity, explaining policies and procedures, showcasing real-life business development examples from successful travel advisors and professionals, and sharing best practices of how to retain and grow group business.

Travel advisors are encouraged to pre-register as space is limited, and those who are unable to participate in the live webinar and interactive Q&A sessions can access the recorded versions on the Travel Advisor Portal.

Sailing suspension extended
AmaWaterways extended its suspension of river cruise operations in Europe, Asia and Africa through the end of June in response to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The company will compensate each impacted passenger with a future cruise credit worth 115 percent that they can redeem on any river cruise through December 2022.

Final payments have been extended to 60 days before departure for all cruises in Europe, Africa and Southeast Asia scheduled to depart by Dec. 31, 2020. Cancellations received between 120 and 60 days before departure will now be subject to $400 per person (Europe/Asia)/$2,400 per person (Africa) cancellation fees.

The company will fully protect the commission of travel agents whose clients opt for a Future Cruise Credit, as well as pay an additional 10% commission on the value of the future booking. Plus, AmaWaterways will pay full commission on the fare difference, if applicable.
