5 Selling Features of Oceanside’s Seabird Resort
by Stacey Zable /The Seabird Resort and its adjacent sister property Mission Pacific Hotel along Oceanside, Calif.’s beachfront Strand opened in the spring of 2021. The two new-build resorts facing 700 feet of sand and surf near the historic Oceanside Pier are helping transform the Southern California town for upscale overnight visitors.
Here are five selling features of the family-friendly Seabird Resort including reciprocal guest amenities at the adult-focused Mission Pacific to help sell clients on either property:
1. Location. Location.
Steps from the Pacific Ocean, both properties get your clients on the beach in minutes. The Beach Rambler services set guests up with complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas. The Surf Concierge provides all they need to know about challenging the waves, including setting up lessons for beginners. When it’s time to explore downtown Oceanside, no car is needed. Guests just head out on foot to discover dining and shopping.
2. Beach Design.
The 226-room Seabird offers spacious rooms with balconies. Both The Seabird and the 161-room Mission Pacific feature “California coastal living” design and boast art collections from the Oceanside Museum of Art. The Seabird’s expansive lobby is bright and welcoming, divided into numerous intimate areas for relaxing pre- or post- beach time. Its Wood Library lined with bookcases filled with mostly sea-themed books on the second floor is the perfect spot to escape the sun or the rare occasion of rain with a good book or a family game night. Kids ages 4 to 14 can participate in the resort’s Little Seabirds, a program of activities that can include crafts, surfing, and scavenger hunts.
3. Outdoor Allure.
Both properties shine in their outdoor spaces starting with The Seabird’s third-floor swimming pool and hot tub overlooking the ocean. It is surrounded by lines of lounge chairs and four private cabanas for those who crave them. Meals, snacks, and drink service can be ordered at guests’ lounges. They can also take advantage in the evening of the corner couches surrounding fire pits with s’mores kits for purchase. Outdoor movie nights encourage family fun. As part of the poolside experience is the Shelter Club, designed to recreate a private gaming lounge club-feel with pool table and board games, as well as being a spot for drinks and snacks. The Shore Room off The Seabird’s lobby is a cozy indoor and outdoor cocktail lounge for drinks and snacks with ocean views and fire pits.
Mission Pacific’s exclusive sixth-floor rooftop pool and bar transforms from intimate swim time to a 21-plus night spot with DJs at sunset.
4. More Dining Choices.
Piper is the main restaurant at The Seabird, open with indoor and outdoor dining for breakfast and dinner and brunch on Saturday and Sunday. At Mission Pacific, High/Low faces the ocean and is the perfect way to start any morning with either sit-down or grab and go offerings. The restaurant is also open for lunch and dinner and cocktails until sunset. Recognized in California’s MICHELIN Guide, Valle at Mission Pacific offers cuisine from Guadalupe Valley paired with oceanfront views. And suggest clients always leave room for pie, with the “Top Gun” house from the 1986 movie the place to grab a HIGH-pie hand pie filled with local fruits and other treats in front of Mission Pacific.
5. Spa and Yoga.
Sunny’s Spa and Beauty Lounge at The Seabird invites guests to relax with services that include massage, bodywork, sound baths, facial, hair, and nail treatments. Within the spa, The Cove combines dry warming space, cooling mist, and aromatherapy. Morning yoga at Mission Pacific’s Rooftop Pool facing the majestic view of the Pacific Ocean is a wonderful way to greet the day.
