AmaWaterways Opens 2025 Reservations, Offers Early Booking Rewards
by Dori Saltzman /AmaWaterways has opened reservations for its 2025 river cruise itineraries, including more Portugal sailings and a new Danube itinerary. To entice travelers to book early, for every booking made by September 30 2023, the river cruise line is offering an Early Booking Reward with savings of up to 20%.
“With 2023 shaping up to be a very successful year and all indications pointing to a record breaking 2024, we could not be more excited to announce the opening of reservations for our 2025 itineraries,” said Rudi Schreiner, co-founder and president of AmaWaterways.
“To meet the growing demand for river cruising, we will have additional ships in Colombia and Portugal… We are also introducing a new seven-night Imperial Danube itinerary on the Danube and bringing back our 14-night Magnificent Europe itinerary taking guests from Amsterdam to Budapest…”
New Ships
AmaWaterways much-anticipated Colombia sailings on the Magdalena River start in late 2024, but in June 2025 the line will double its capacity in the country with the arrival of AmaMelodia. Like its sister ship AmaMagdalena, the 60-passenger AmaMelodia will sail a mix of seven-night Wonders of Colombia and Magic of Colombia itineraries sailing between Cartagena and Barranquilla.
The line is also increasing capacity in Portugal with the debut of AmaSintra sailing both the seven-night Enticing Douro, which sails roundtrip from Porto, and seven-night Flavors of Portugal & Spain, which sails between Porto and Vega de Terron, Spain.
Imperial Danube
Debuting in 2025 will be a new seven-night Imperial Danube itinerary that sails roundtrip from Budapest, with stops in Bratislava, Durnstein, and Vienna. Guests can opt for a two-night, pre-cruise land package in Budapest.
Magnificent Europe
Responding to demand for longer cruises AmaWaterways is bringing back its 14-night Magnificent Europe itinerary, which sails between Amsterdam and Budapest on the Danube, Main, and Rhine Rivers and visits five countries. Port sops include Cologne, Bamberg, Regensburg, Passau, Vienna, and more.
The line is encouraging travel advisors to take advantage of the early opening to snag group space.
“Group business is very important to AmaWaterways and by opening our 2025 itineraries early this year, we are offering our travel advisor partners a little extra time to reach out to their clients to organize this type of travel whether they are groups made of friends and family celebrating milestone birthdays or anniversaries, or special interest groups involving art, music, or sports,” said AmaWaterways’ executive vice president and co-founder Kristin Karst.
