Princess Cruises Is Bringing Back the Original Love Boat Cast for a Special Sailing
by Daniel McCarthy /Princess Cruises is celebrating its history with a new themed cruise that will reunite the original cast members from the 1976 sitcom The Love Boat.
Princess will welcome Jill Whelan, who played Vicki Stubing, along with Bernie Kopell (Doc), Fred Grandy (Gopher), and Ted Lange (Isaac), onboard during its Aug. 31, seven-night New York to Canada & England sailing aboard Enchanted Princess. Ezra Freeman, the bartender from CBS’s recent Love Boat reality show rebook, called The Real Love Boat, will also be onboard.
The sailing will be a celebration of all things Love Boat, with meet-and-greet opportunities, show-inspired menus, a cocktail demonstration hosted by Freeman and Lange, and more. Princess will also be offering a VIP Package, which gets guests access to an exclusive cast cocktail party, reserved seating for the cast Q and A, dinner at the Captain’s Table, and a themed t-shirt and mug.
The sailing is the second time Princess has leaned into its Love Boat connection in recent years, following the inaugural Love Boat cruise in 2022.
“We had such a blast connecting with fans on our theme cruise in 2022, so bringing it back in 2024 feels like it was meant to be, especially with the addition of some surprise guests,” said Jill Whelan, Celebrations Ambassador for Princess Cruises. “Sailing with our fans brings us so much joy and this cruise will undoubtedly be a special reunion, taking us back to where it all began – on a Princess Cruise.”
