ASTA’s EVP of Advocacy Eben Peck to Leave Association Next Month
by Daniel McCarthy /The American Society Travel Advisors’ (ASTA) longtime executive vice president of Advocacy Eben Peck is set to move on from ASTA on Oct. 12, ASTA announced on Monday afternoon.
Peck, who has been with ASTA for almost 12 years, was the de facto number two in ASTA’s staff structure since 2017 and was an integral part of its work in Washington D.C. During his tenure he worked on behalf of travel advisors on a number of incredibly important issues, including keeping advisors off the DOL blacklist, fighting for PPP loans and unemployment during the pandemic, helping secure an exemption during the AB 5 fight, and much more.
According to ASTA, Peck and his team were able to win a series of legislative and regulatory victories that saved the industry an estimated $720 million in new taxes, fees, and other costs. He also helped spearhead ASTA’s annual political fundraising efforts, which saw a 15-fold increase to more than $800,000 last year.
